well my Z is fecked now, headgaskets gone and undrivable but i was thinking of a rebuild but thats going to cost me atleast £2000 and more when ive brought tools aswell. so was thinking of a change all together. or a Z in really good condition, if there is any about lol

how ugly are the tvr tasmin

Very! They look like a Reliant Scimitar Sabre!

Wasn't there a nice SWB slicktop for £1495 in another thread?

The 3.5i Tasmin WAS relatively cheap and there were loads about until the sun came out now they've gone up by a grand and they've all sold.

Rudy who's helping me with the V8 build has just picked one up in cherry red metallic for £2000. It needed the door refitting and a bit of work on the rear arch but it's a stonker of a good deal for a V8

my advice (granted its a bit biased)

Stick with the zed and use the money to slowly build it up again. it will pay off in the long run, You will save money with the tax..... my mates focus ST is going up to almost 350 quid 2010.

granted a newer car may have less problems to worry about at first however considering the zed's age i still think it is more reliable than my mrs zed or my mates ST.

There is always a risk involved with older engines but if you are prepared to fix and maintain a car that you fell in love with then you will reap the benefits.

ofcourse it is your choice and you will always be welcome on the forum and i agree that i sometimes fancy a change but when i sit down and think about it i am no better off getting another car. £2000 is a small price to pay for your car to run another 10 years however if you already fancy something newer or different then it may not be worth your time and investment as you will not see all of that money back.

whatever choice you make atleast make sure you are happy with the choice and don't regret it.... not alot of zeds going around anymore and more coming off the road. when i (regretably) sold my older zed i misse it so much and struggled to find another zed, let alone one in good nick.... hence why i am driving round in this banger.... it may look good but the engine needs work (something i personally am going to do) and i bought it with the intention of rebuilding it and have it running longer :-)

other than that have you got a rough list of what cars you have seen the look of?

Alfa GTV is a good choice! But they are 4 seater? You mean the Alfa Spider?

Yeah I just did a search and can't work out if it's a GTV Spyder, just a Spyder or Spider?

One of those anyway! LOL

As long as it's the V6 ;)

I swapped mine for my old supra, very quick car through the twistys a totally different drive to the z

sticks like glue through the bends as long as you keep you foot down, dont lift out of a corner or you'll be in a lampost backwards!

My old mr2 is still for sale on piston heads i think
