Just curious if anyone on here had any type of core temp monitor software ?? and what temp's you're seeing in this heat?

have been watching mine closely!

with mine just on smart fan the cpu temp can go up to 53C and eventually settle at 49C , but if i put my external fan on that fire's cold air directly at the board , i can still leave it on smart fan (not have to increase rpm) and get the temp holding at 39/40c (no matter what i'm doing on the pc)

i requested this software on my new set up , as my old pc went pop in the last really hot summer we had 2005 i think?

Chris ;)

Well that shut me up  , i cant get it any lower just with smart fan and the external fan running could increase the main cpu fan to 100% but i dont like doing that for to long, ooohhh i'm on 39 now :hyper:

lol, the ultimate solution !, would'nt mind lookin in to water cooled though

Watercooling isnt too bad, just keep an eye on the reservoir levels and you will be fine

Watercooling will help a bit mate. I'm running a quad core extreme (getting on a bit now, but still good) with a 100% coolant mix. The core temp varies from 30 to 34 depending on load, I've also got two air cooled Nvidia GTX8800 gfx cards with a idle temp of 72oC. Pretty sure these are putting a few degrees on the cpu temp as well.

30 oc on watercooling... thats very high! My friend has watercooling (quad core as well Q6600) and his is at 15 oc.

and 72 oc on your gpus... i guess there is less room to get rid of the air so it will be hotter, what do you get when they are on full useage?

Yeah, mate tbh I was expecting a bit better than a good air cooled temp. Playing games like COD4 or Crysis; the cpu core will rise to about 33 - 34 degs. The gpus will be around 88! according to nvidia this is "normal" for these gpu's. I have two 80mm intake fans, that are mainly for cooling the rad. I've also got a 120mm and a 60mm output fans, the psu is 1kw and also has two 120mm fans for pulling air through it. The pc is capable of heating my room by a couple of degs!

It sounds like your mate has a high quality cooling setup, mine is the thermaltake Armor LCS system which is pretty much an entry jobber.

Yea IIRC he spent a good £200 plus on it

Was looking at some water cooling systems on e-buyer late last night, as I’m only currently air cooled.

I can control it reasonably well but when it's really hot and i have more than 3/4 apps running it can increase to 46/47oc (on smart fan)>not the highest i've seen it though

i must admit it does worry me
