When i'm driving along the road and floor it a bit i get a strange noise from under the front of the car

Its sounds like a deep tone rising slightly before it disappears

Could it be a boost leak or a slipping autobox.Ive got an fmic, chipped ecu, boost jets it only started making the noise after i fitted all this Oh and the turbo's whistle now

anyone got any ideas:confused:

No mate it sounds like a bit like an alternator sounds like when it slips a bit only deeper and quite loud and it comes from under the car otherwise the car runs perfect

Jim

Does it sound a bit like a goose or owl? LOL

Could be the recirc valves are on their way out.

They start making a noise like the above.

Its a bit in between a gosse and an owl it only lasts a few seconds as the engine boosts up then goes away

Jim

ChrisC is spot on there. Recircs on the way out if the sound matches.

Not a major problem but it is a bit of a boost leak so could affect performance a little.

Do a search for "goose honk"

Will bring up loads of stuff about it.

Fitting new recirculating valves or blow off valves fixes it.

Can you fit blow offs to an auto

You can but complete waste of time, better still to buy some new recircs, not Nissan ones but from the companies that do dump valves, in my opinion you want to keep s much of the boost ( energy ) you have paid for (fuel) an not let it out to the atmosphere.

Or, if you like the sound, get some dump valves baby!!!!

I have 'em, and i love 'em!!!
