Boost Controller Help

Hi guys,

As you guys know I have bought Radrons car... it has many gizmos and a great spec and I'm very happy with it, however I checked the peak reading in the boost controller a while ago and it stated it was 222 :shock:

So I have checked the rest of the setting and and they are:

Lo: Set 53% Gain 10% Set Gain 105 warning 110 L 10%

Hi: Set 72% Gain 10% Set Gain 152 warning 180 L 10%

I'm not sure what the setting mean or should be? I did find see posting by Mr. Dixon that explains it all but can't seem to find it at the moment...

The original warning level was set to for 188 for Lo and 224 for Hi.

I would like some advice on what to do with it.. Should I keep it off and keep to Safety boost?

Thanks for the help in advance guys :)

Paul

Your Lo will be 18.8PSi and your Hi is 22.4PSi - yes, no, maybe??? Expert needed please lol.

I have mine set on the Lo setting most of the time however my Lo setting is only about stock boost lol. In winter i sometimes switch it off into safety boost and weather like now i have it on Hi :D

Its up to you i guess mate - whatever you feel comfortable with. :)

Hi mate...

I think the Hi setting was supposed to be 15.2psi and the Lo 10.5 but I don't think this is the case... So this is way off... as said I'm very worried that the original setting may over time damage the engine...

Thanks

Paul

Well i'm no expert so i'll let one take over :)

All i can say is mine was originally supposed to be set to 12.9 on Hi but i personally don't feel it was set up exactly (or as accurately) as it should of been and after a couple of boost leaks were fixed mine peaked at 14.5 yesterday. Not too bothered as i don't use Hi much and when i do its a real occasion lol.

Cheers,

Isaac

Cheers Mate... I think I'll have to get it setup on a rolling road... I'll probably take it to see Jeff in the fairly near future so hopefully he can cast an eye on it...

Ok, my bad on this... The setting were correct 22psi giving about 1.5 bar of boost and 18 giving about 1.2 bar... Got to go and reset the warning settings now! I should have just left well alone! I've still got alot to learn!!!

LOL well at least you got to the bottom of it.

22PSi eh  That must be fvckin mental!!! Mine peaks at 14.5 and that pulls like nothing i've ever experienced!! How do you go on for traction with that kind of power?

It's got the Z1 GT600 Turbos and forged internals, Jeff set the boost controller up up so I believe it's correct... It is a bit Crazy but the car is running Racelogic with Falken 452's to put the power down, I have to say that the Race Logic is brilliant and I don't think I could control the car without it at the moment!

I think I'll be driving it around on the Lo setting and use the Hi for Power runs... I will say this though... The Car is RAPID!!!!!!!

Ah right - i did'nt realise you have RLTC - that is another thing on my list in the future.

You can have it on Hi for certain occasions ;) :D

In this weather mine is staying on Hi

have never fiddled with my ebc just left it on 0.9 bar with the settings my mechanic put in.

I should have just left it alone... I know Ron would not have had it set incorrectly... Still I've set the warning settings to how they were so all back and good to go!!!
