:) But I will need a different type of glue for leatherette. Evo stick doesn't seem to be holding it as there is like a fabric hessian type structure on the back of the viynl..... Any suggestions for leatherette to mdf bonding? :headvswal

you need the glue that car upholsterers use comes in a paint tin,

spread evenly on both surfaces using a spatula (old tesco points card) for best results do it twice as the first coat gets slightly absorbed, also the glue should have quite a high temp resistance as it can get bloody hot in the zed left out in the sun!!! dont want it all lifting! my mate is a car trimmer i will ask him the name of the glue he uses,

he's doing my interior in the next week or so, i'm using leatherette/vynal too..

sweet cheers dude evo stick contact adhesive(we used to use this in work for bonding formica to boards) is what I have used but it is lifting after a while.... I want some feckin strong industrial stuff

Look great, very tidy install

Are you using the Solvent version that comes in a big Tin (its a sort of clear brown and quite thick) and you cant usually buy it off the shelf, they tend to keep it in under the counter ? or are you using the White non solvent version ?

If your using the solvent version then Im very surprised your having problems, that stuff is incredibly strong, I've done 3 interiors with it in Leather and Leatherette (with the fabric backing).

The White non solvent version is however pretty crap.

It's the trade stuff (same as we used to use in work, green tin brown/green glue) feckin stinks probably need a couple more coats on the fabric to bridge the gaps in the criss cross.

Do you want to apolster mine for me :D

not really confident about the glue I used on the fabric at the moment dude and it takes ages too .....:( took most of my day yesterday to do a set. I can however put photo's of how I have done it step by step ...it's easy just really time consuming.

cheers bud. how much did you order for the whole lot??

I bought a 5 metre roll by 730mm wide and used about half of it just under so got loads left for other bits now :) as it matches the other bits in my car. It was £15 delivered all in and came in a day or two very good service
