Hi all sorry if this has been raised loads of times but im new :x:

 

Getting a seat of my pants vibration @40mph - have read somewehere its propshaft related ? If so is there a cheap and easy DIY fix ?

Do a search - loads on this. Probable cause is the collapse of the rubber bellows part that helps locate the prop centre bearing. It lets the middle of the propshaft sag down onto the mount - on the bones of its ar5e so to speak. Classic symptom is vibration around 40-50mph especially when cold. Replacing the centre bearing is not too hard to do.

Also check the gearbox mount at the rear of the box, you can get an uprated Nismo mounting rubber to replace it.

Agree with centre mount and gearbox mount, but also think that the UJ's are getting very dry/tired/lumpy which I think is a big problem. When I tried a London based prop Co they said joints were out of stock and hence prop was returned. Also tried one piece Z1 prop without success. It realy is an major issue which can send a otherwise A1 car to it's maker.
