I received a letter this morning from Alan Newberry at South Lanarkshire Council asking inviting us to attend this event. I have no idea why they sent it to me. Robert, i can forward you the letter if you want to sort this our or I'd be happy. I just thought since you're REO, i dont wanna be stepping on your toes.

 

If I Remember correctly, we were all set to go last year then the event was rained off.

 

The event is on Sunday 16th of August at Chatelherault Country Park, Hamilton and runs from 11:00 to 16:00. The letter states that all cars must be on site by 10:30 at the latest and that anyone who cannot stay until 16:00 should not attend.

 

So what's the general feeling? Would there be enough interest from here to think about a stand?

Mike Ive been trying to get information on this show for three months now, gave up the end of april as I thought they must be giving it a miss this year.

As for attendance they would accept us even if there is only one car!, hopefully we can muster a few more than that :)

id be up for going and having a stand would be good for the scottish section to have a wee showoff to the rest of them lol

Im all for going. I'm sure that the show is split into two sections, modified and classic.

 

With the average age of our cars being close to 16-17years, i'd suggest more towards the classic side?

Having been there before I suggest the classic section. thats where we were before. Some nice cars in the modded section, but lots of big sound systems as well. You could hardly hear yourself think in that area, I'm too old for that!

 

There is more room in the classic area as well.

 

They will be looking for numbers to arrange stands so can everyone interested let us know asap

Does it matter that our cars (my car probably), may be in less than perfect condition at that point in time. Rusty arches and wheels in need of a refurb :(

:D 13th June, we all agreed yonks ago that a meeting every couple of months was enough. We just dont get enough interest up here to have them every month.

I was hoping to have my car back on the road probably the 1st couple of weeks in August, so if its ready then i'll defo be up for going, i had my car in it about 3 years ago and it was a great day out + that gives me a definate date to get it finished for, so could be the kick up the arse i needed.

 

Also my mate from work gstar just joined the forum last night after buying a 300zx on Tuesday and he's up for it aswell.

Ive now received an electronic copy of the form for the event.

 

I will need to send it away next week, so am looking to confirm numbers now.

 

As a club we are limited to 20 places, so its first come first served hurry! hurry! hurry! you will be really disappointed if you leave it too late and all the places get filled :rolleyes:

 

Anybody interested PM me with your registration number and also I need you to confirm the car is insured.

 

I'm looking to send this mid week......

 

Ohhhh and I have to tick either modified or classic, my pen is hovering over the classic :)
