Noticed today that my turbos are slow to react. I´m not in safety mode and the turbos appear to be giving full boost, or maybe a little under perfect but not quite safety boost. Is this the sign of a vacuum leak ?

Cheers

if you are running a standard set up, then a boost leak would feel like the car is running on less than 6 cylinders. (a small leak, feels like running on 5 cylinders, a big leak, feels like running on 3 cylinders and will not boost at all!!)

"slow to react"..... dont know what you mean?!?

okay, let me try and explain what I mean.

normally when you put your foot down the boost gauge needle shoots up pretty quickly and you can feel the turbos pushing you. Now when I put my foot down the needle seems to go up more gradually ...kind of slowly in comparrison...seems to reach full boost..just feels like it´s reaching it slower than normal

does that make more sense :)

could be your tubs on the way out??

am no expert, but am sure someone will come along and correct me or advise you better.

did the oil filter a few weeks back mate ..i.e cleaned it up and reoiled it ( K&N drop in )

Car drove fine today though so I´m thinking it was probably one of those paranoid moments where you think something isn´t working right because nothing has gone wrong in a while..if that makes any sense.

:)

I don't want to sound pedantic but, you do know the tubs come in at a certain rev range, I.E. standard i think are from 3000rpm, a/m tubs are higher through the range.

:) yeah..been driving the car almost 6 years mate so I should know how they "kick in" ..on my car that is ..i´m sure I was imagining things..like when you start to get used to the power the car has and then think it´s getting slower.

cheers for the input though, appreciate it.

i know exactly what you mean matey......

I drive my 300 for some time and think to myself, is she getting slower???

Then i don't drive her for some time, and get in, put my foot down and..... ooohh my god!!

If you know what I mean.

ATB matey,

Al.
