just been down to zedworld jeff found the problem almost strait away so thankyou to him!

 

Car sounds like a blowing piece of crap! gonna cost £650+ vat to change the bloody gasket! what a night mare engine has to be dropped to get to it!

i know but had the engine swapped out in dec 2007! so even more gutted!

iv never seen a manifold to head .gasket failure

 

 

Mmm..... maybe 4th or 5th in 10 years so yes very unusual.

When I first bought my Z back in 2000, the NS manifold was blowing a bit. It was only after doing my first engine rebuild that the cause was found: It was a badly skimmed manifold 'face'. (There was about 0.5mm warp). £30 down the local engine shop for a re-face and problem solved!
