Not perfect, but much better than they were, all done by hand apart from sanding down the welding that I did and the final polish,

from 240 to 1200 and all grades in between wet & dry, finished off with autosol on a polishing pad.

Very very nice there Paul! It also helps that those wheels are absolutely stunning too!

To finish it off completely and get rid of any swirl marks that the Autosol will leave, go over it with 'Brilliant' or 'Belgom Alu' and buff off with a soft cloth for a really deep shine with protection!

Hard work aint it!

Done it all myself too mate. Took me days in total. Mine were ruddy awful to start with, went from 240 to 2000  Got a superb finish tho - was well worth it :D

Will have to do them again sometime aswell - not cos the finish was'nt good enough, but cos i've kerbed 2 of em - could of fvckin screamed!!

Oh well they look awesome freshly done anyway :D

I could pick hard boiled eggs straight of the pan i could feel so little in my finger tips

Top job Paul, looks really nice, as Si said belgom alu is excellent, I got mine from ebay, think it was around £10

No worries. Shame you don't live a bit closer as I have both products here with me.

I'm actually going to do a bit of a product test on both of them together. The lips on my wheels need a polish as I've not hand polished them for a while. I cut back the metal lightly with Autosol. Autosol is quite abrasive for alloy, very good on stainless, but too abrasive to leave as a final finish on alloy. Leaves a lot of swirl marks that are visible in sunlight. I use it to remove light marks and any cloudiness. It's great at pulling all of that out.

To finish off, I use 'Brilliant' polish which is a very fine thin liquid. Rub this product on (use sparingly), let dry and then buff off with a soft cloth. The shine goes deeper and any swirly marks are dramatically reduced.

:)

I highly rate the product, but have also read rave reviews about Belgom Alu, which is a very similar polish to Brilliant and designed as a fine polish for alloy and softer metals. Less abrasive and good as a finisher product. So I want to see how these products do head to head. :)

Depends what finish you have on your wheels already. Are they lacquer coated, are they damaged?

I've done light refurbing work on my wheels to remove mild curbing marks. But my wheels are bare alloy.

Some curb damage on a couple of them, they have lacquer on the centre spoke's but not on the rim.
