Im looking to fit a doolz set-up within the next few months.

But im not 100% sure about the electronics side of things. i.e. getting the ECU to read the correct amount of air.

Am i right in thinking that it is as simple as fitting the twin intake with one air flow meter and the ECU can be chipped to make it read the correct amount of air?

I have just done a dolz type set up and John Dixon has done my ecu, as far as I know a chip is fitted to double the maf reading.

Magic. Do you have any running problems with it, no?

Don't know yet as it is part of a big engine conversion and I don't think it will be up and running for a week or two yet.

I think I still have a copy of the Doolz chip I was using until I went to a full 2 MAF setup.

I've also got a Doolz kit I'm wanting to sell but it may need some of the rubber hoses as I think I kept some bits on the car.

I could dig it out of the shed if you are interested?

Send me a PM.

you will need something like an apexi safc to do the twin maf setup

Hi mate

You get a dummy maf with the doolz kit so you can run with one maf. Then you need to get your ecu chipped. I understand the chip doubles the output from the maf. I had mine running with a map sensor and two dummy mafs. You would need an aftermarket ECU to run that setup though.

Cheers bud

Chris, was your chip for running a single MAF?

What was the advantages of running the full 2 MAF set-up?

I think i might be sorted with the piping, but thanks anyway. :D

2 mafs allows the ecu to measure more air into the engine, the standard maf is good for around 500 bhp ish so any further and you need either 2 or a map sensor which replaces it

Yes it was with a single MAF and a dummy (old faulty) MAF on the other side.

You can either modify the chip to double the reading or use something like an Apexi S-AFC which I have.

Moved to 2 MAF's as I had reached the limit of it really and also had problems with the mounting position of the Doolz on my car.

It positioned the air filters directly under the headlight panel gap and too low down so with my front bumper the filters were constantly getting soaked and making the car run rough or even fail to start after overnight rain.

I didn't have a splash guard to make matters worse.
