Hi everyone i was thinking of spraying my wheels as they look tatty, they are fox racing rs, 5 spoke, think they might be split rims, got a deeper dish on the back, any got any colour suggestions, my Z is black. thanks

Featured Replies

id go for a off silver colour not as dark as a grafite hope that makes sence lol

Definiately WON'T be split rims mate. They are one of the cheapest brands of wheels you can buy. Cast monoblock.

I'd go down the silver route if you're going to refurb. But, unless you're going to do it yourself, it would be more worthwhile looking at getting some good quality used wheels.

Gloss black with a highly polished dish would look good - not a fan of black wheels unless they have a nice big polished dish.

Othewise silver is a good option :)

Thats what i was thinking these wheels do look like split rims, i know fox racing is a garbage name, i'll have to get some pics up when i know how, might just be replacment centercap stickers, or some old nice looking fox rims lol, not sure but i like them even if they are FR. they have a Z signiture looking thing on the dish themselves.

they're volk racing wheels, jap split rims so i reckon it'd be worth saving them! i'd prob go with a slightly off silver/grey metallic centre with polished rims, they suit the car pretty well so with a freshen up it'll look ace!

they do look like genuine split rims, i've seen plenty of cheap replica's, even if they are cheap rims, i like the look of them, can i just get the paint of the lip and then polish it?

You can but its feckin hard work! Thats why i just painted mine - i found it near impossible to get 'under' where the spokes meet the dish.

if they are genuine split rims, the nuts are visible from inside the wheel,it's not that hard to split them providing you have access to a battery or air powered impact gun, trying to remove them with the normal ratchet etc will most likely involve them snapping,a 10 or12mm(can't remember off top of my head) multi hex socket will fit on the outside face of the bolt with the impact gun, then either a spanner or socket on the rear of the bolts i have a set the exact same as those in the pics and they're volk racing, i've split them myself so i can paint the centre's and polish the rims up before building them back up

hope this helps

He doesn't even need to look mate. They are Fox wheels. They won't be split rims, they won't even be forged! ;)

lol venoms i used to love them once upon a time, can't beleive some people still have them, well if they are fox racing rs, i'll just do them myself & keep a look out for some other wheels, not bad looking though imo, but they are attached to my Z lol.
