Been a while since i did mine, but i seem to remember undoing the 2 bolts/screws and then pulling the plate from the top and sliding out of the bottom holders. 2 second job that :)

My front plate is glued onto a metal mounting plate. Any recommendations on how to remove the old one and what adhesive to use to attach the new one?

Get a stanley knife stuck into it and go to town!

Regarding fitting the new one, i can't say i'd recommend glueing it!! Just get some double sided sticky sponge tape stuff - people use it to attach number plates all the time - including myself ;)

You can probably buy stuff from halfords but personally i go buy a little roll of it from b&q. Its called double sided foam mounting tape and it works a treat.
