Hi,

just got myself a 'bargain' Z32 from ebay. yup, I'm a mug, I know, but it only cost me a grand for a stock '93 UK TT. and now I have ideas as to why - lots and lots of rust. and a load of other stuff that I'll have to sort out.

Total noob question for starters: is the boost supposed to stay constant, or is it meant to drop back? I've been driving the zed a bit carefully until I get its full measure (and know nothing is likely to drop off, explode or otherwise scare the shit out of me!), so I haven't really opened it up for long, but what I see is that the boost will hit round about 10psi, then drop back to zero and below as I reach "cough" 70mph on the motorway.

Welcome,

If its not holding boost then its likely to be boost leak.

Any helpful hints on where to start looking? And can anyone recommend a good mechanic in east london?

Rubber hoses onto the throttle bodies (post intercoolers) hoses below these (pre intercoolers), check the intercoolers and their conections and anywhere else you can see an intake hose! Run the car and listen for air escaping

hello and welcome, hope you manage to sort it out.

Bugger, that's what I was afraid of.

A boost leak is the least of your worries and is an easy fix!

A grand for a UK TT....bet it is rust then! Might be worth reshelling as shells don't go for huge amounts.

If I'd realised the state of what I've bought and how much I'm gonna end up spending, I probably would have thought harder about some of the cars on offer here. Stellaz looks rather nice :)

it is nice, and its also a uk car with hooge amounts of cash already been thrown at it, im only selling to fund a monster of a 300zx

this weekend only £4500 no offers lol

Welcome mate. I've got a 93 UK TT as well, cost me £1500 of ebay. Luckily it is more or less rust free. I'd recommend you lift the carpet as the floor pans at the rear of the seats are prone to tin worm! Hope you get yours sorted as they are fantastic cars.
