Advice please, Almera Tino clutch pedal dropped :(

Hi guys and gals,

I'm looking for some help as our only car broke down last night and had to be towed home. :headvswal It's a 2004 Almera Tino 2.2 diesel (yuk!) with a hydraulic clutch system. The pedal feels fine on the way down, but it stays on the floor and I can't engage any gears. If I pull the pedal a little it then raises again. The fluid in the reservoir is about halfway between min and max, and I can't see any fluid leaks (but that doesn't mean it's not leaking, I just can't see it).

We are skint at the moment so it's anything I can sort myself I'll give it a go!

Any advice/guidance will be greatly appreciated :)

I found a leak!! A hose that goes over the gearbox has been rubbing on the chassis and has now split, fluid pi$$ing out when you press the clutch.

That'll be that then :) I feel all masculine and useful again :D

Thanks for your input all the same.

You'll be all masculine and useful if you can actually fix it yourself....NOT with gaffer tape!

Fix it myself? Highly unlikely!! I do the shiny bits, not the oily bits. But I have got a mate that wants his Skyline engined Z detailing - and he's a mechanic! I feel a bit of a deal coming on :D
