if its a 92 turbo it will be a z32, all z32 turob's are twin, does your car have headlight washers on the front bumper

Hi all yes mine is a 1992 z32, thanks all, just been outside fiddling with the motor, i should of just looked, i turned the boost down as it was set at around 14psi and with the fact that it is smoking thought its for the best, the smoke is mainly coming from drivers side exhaust, the backbox is connected by about 2ft of flexi pipe, the smoke is white, do you think ots the turbo that sits on that side or could it be pcv valve's or the flexi please say either option 2 or 3 lol, the smoke is cloudy white in colour can't see any light blue smoke.

also turned the boost down as the car scares the sh?t out of me when the turbo's kick in the acceleration is out of this world, the car seems to drive perfect and is very smooth, would'nt there be loss of power or lumpy running if the turbo seal had gone? anything i could check. oh and the oil is clean no mayo or anything. thanks all, Dom

How did you turn the boost down, and you know about the pcv valves ,but you dont know weather its a twin turbo or not. Either this is a wind up. or you really dont want to be messing with it.

No wind up, just the log book said 300ZX TURBO, and the engine bay is rammed, also i'am very far from being a mechanic, the Z is fitted with a boost controller, so i simply tuned it down a little, and before i bought the car i read as much about them as possible, not trying to wind anyone up just thought i could tap into a little of your combined experiance and knoledge, Dom

I'am well into my cars, and am always out side either fixing or cleaning my car's, just very very new to the 300zx, Dom

the backbox is connected by about 2ft of flexi pipe

You are joking? Pics please!!!

the backbox is connected by about 2ft of flexi pipe

Interesting

Best to change the PCV valves to eliminate those, they are pretty cheap from MJP.

If the turbo seals have gone you won't notice any real loss of performance.

It will just use more and more oil and eventually end up leaving a 007 style smoke screen everywhere you go LOL

Interesting

quite common with universal backboxes to aid installation . i helped a guy at work fit a universal box to his bmw and it came with a flexi hose. quite a substantial pipe and a clever economical way of fitting an unusual tailpipe on a budget.
