Ouch !!! Poor chap, Still some salvageable bits there though and not the cheapest of alarms either

I've started liking the MR2 again. Go through phases of liking/disliking cars. Like the Z32, there are so many poorly modified/tatty examples that it puts a downer on the car as a whole. I go through the same thought process with how I feel about the Z as well.

I don't think I will EVER like the current one though. Ugly plastic looking frog thing.

I like the one above ^... and even the mark before that , but agreed i dont like the look of the newer one's and never have !

Imo, Toyota lost the plot with the current one. They turned a mid engined sports car into a midengined turboless girly roadster.

Agree on that point too. I loved these as a kid, but then as I grew up, I started thinking it looked ugly, but now I think it's retro-cool and has gained an almost 'classic' status. Try finding one with no rust though!

Yes i've always found the earlier mr2's are a kind of love hate situation?, i do like them personally and certainly puts a smile on you’re face on a carriageway :D , but i now allot that just don’t like the wedge shaped look

surprising how cheap the older one's can be picked up for now , but i know a local chap who done just that and is still attempting to make the car road worthy 7 months later !! :x:

Good ones are starting to fetch really good money now though. Rusty ones, not so much, but decent MK1 MR2s are in demand again.

Yeah, 16" supra wheels, look better on an mr2 than a supra!

They sure do, that's really nice! You going to get the later front indicators (clear)?

Have any larger photos of it?

I had a Mk1 MR2 and a Mk2.

The Mk1 was brilliant, Slow and handling was errr..Interesting...but Soo much fun.

Ohlins stuff is pretty decent quality! Love it with the Supra wheels on it. Suits the car so well. First time I've seen it done. Offset is perfect!

There ya go!

Impressive ! looks a nice example mate, (like the wheels) and looks very clean 2

Chris

Thanks guys:)

Supra wheels are quite common on mr2's, bit of a pain to fit though,

need at least 15mm spacers on front & 20mm on rear, supra wheel nuts &

extended studs.

The ohlins set-up is very very harsh, i snapped a droplink and didn't even

know! I'm looking to change the suspension kit soon, to something a bit more

'user friendly!'

Am also looking to change the wheels to some of these...

What d'ya reckon?

Quite liked my tin top turbo too :) Pitty it needed quite a bit spending on it so got rid!

White wheels with polished lip on white cars are about the only combination where white wheels work IMO. The JWT Z32 test car has a set of Work Equip in white and they look good (on a white car too).

I'd be tempted to keep yours though. Just get a fresh coat of paint on them. :)

Thanks guys:)
