being subscribed would mean you would be able to pm one of our traders for all this info, £20 for all the info you would recieve is not a lot of cash

where is it and how much is it and is it worth doing or not please?

It's at the rear of the engine :D crank seal

Only costs a couple of quid I think from memory.

Probably worth doing if the engine is out. Same for the front one.

the rear engine oil seal is bettween your gearbox and engine it is the oil seal for the rear end of your crank, i had this problem and it turned out my pistons were passing and was pressurising the crankcase and pushing oil out of the seal!!

worth checking just to be sure is your dipstick popping out, i did get a price about 2 years ago for doing this it was at a gearbox specialist £450 mine was an autobox!!

hope you get it sorted matey

its at the back of the engine. yes its worth doing, don't think it cost much (£10-£20 tops iirc)

The prize is, the first EVER episode from Superted! Enjoy! :duffer:

its worth getting the gasket which fits behind the seal retainer aswell. dealers can get them easy enough.

You shouldnt need to remove the housing.A seal hook will get it out or drill a small hole in the seal and screw in a self tapping screw to use for pulling it out.Tapping a screw driver down the side of it to lever it out can mark the housing and cause an oil leak around the new seal.

is this the bib thing between the engine and the box or am i cofusing it with something else?

I need to change mine, I've got two Z engines in my garage so I thought I'd try it on one and get it right on the other. It was really tight in! I demolished the seal and marked the casing! doh. Trying to rethink my strategy for the engine that matters...might try putting two screws in, however I've already removed the casing so is it worth trying to get it pressed out by someone or is it fairly easy to do it properley?
