Been thinking about this for a while, does anyone have or had made an alloy undertray. Ive got one but has a slight tear in it, i was contemplating taking to a local metal works thats makes casing in ali. They say it can be done in 3mm alloy and via a press brake., would help it stop rattling about, but also be light and strong. This would act as a template for others if needed.

Anyone else done something??

I'll be looking into it, i was planning a complete ally undertray for the V8 to stop rubbish getting all over the engine when it's done.

Have they given you any idea of prices yet? And how far back would it go?

Sounds like a good idea, ive never seen one off cus im new to all this. What about carbon fibre? Theres loads of places that will make you nearly anything out of carbon fibre now

yeah also been looking into these.

Unique autosports one i have been tempted in for some time, they also have complete front to rear on their track car.

Think is wont the carbon one be brittle if you hit a speed bump or something? that is their track car so fine but on a road may not be such a good options.

However that design in another material sounds a good idea.

I'll be doing one for my car if I ever get home from sardinia!

Have already done the front section, just the engine one to go. Will get some pics when I have it finished.

a pure carbon fibre one wouldn't be very good for that application but the frp shown in the pic is kevlar. kevlar has massive impact resistance properties so is suitable in that respect... but is very costly!

these would be very easy to make out of ally... i considered making some out of 2024 t3 alclad that we have an abundance of @ work but i couldnt be assed! stainless is prolly the ideal choice but is a nightmare to work with (in comparison to ally) and is alot heavier...

we got some on the group buy in Nov from Spddacer! Really good should be fitting it in a few weeks (5months after buying it lol)

i feel a group buy coming off !!

I did one in Nov think we had 5 ordered in total!Started with like 10 then a few people dropped out :(

FFS, where was i ?? I would be interested in this as i have had an engine change a while back and never realized that the undertray wasn't put back on. Hence, crap all over the engine all the time!!!

The only problem with a group buy for mine is the engine and steering rack are 3inches lower than stock so a standard design wouldn't fit mine :(

I gotta get me one of them UAS ones, my original ones seen better days

Well if another group buy pops up, count me in. That carbon/kevlar chap looks spot on
