Due to the high proportion of young drivers involved in serious accidents our local police forces carry out events and presentations every year in an effort to reduce the casualties. The organisation that I work for get requested to provide some involvement in these young driver safety presentations.

We give advice on some of the legal aspects with regards maintaining cars including modifications and point out some of the dangers of carrying out such work improperly .

As is usual whith teenagers, half the time it is obvious that its a case of in one ear and out the other, so this year I would like to provide some real life examples to drive home the point.

Im looking for photographs of modifications that have gone wrong things like using cheap parts from ebay etc that have failed, mods that have not been properly thought through or have not been done properly leaving the car in a dangerous condition.

I know there have been previous posts with photos of such items but I really need the owners permission to use them as there is a chance that they could be used in posters nationally. Obviously there is no need to identify the vehicles, its only the resulting defects I'm looking for.

Any help would be much appreciated

is this a drive against all modifications or just to use quality components?

Sorry I thought I had made myself clear, no its not a drive against all mods. There is nothing wrong with modifying provided its done properly. what im on about are things like cheap suspension parts that have failed because they are not up to the job ( there have been a few instances now on this forum), taking a hacksaw to coilsprings instead of fitting lowered uprated units, jamming on larger wheels resulting in the tyre shredding etc.

tbh most of the stuff im on about hopefully is unlikely to be carried out on Z's more Corsas, Saxos anfd the like. Fortunately im not on any of those forums :D..... Im just looking for examples to help our guys to explain what can go wrong if things arent done properly.

see jeffTT, im confident he'll have loads

Im sure he has :)
