F.A.O. Kirbz, Jimmer and Darrell in particular!!

Hi Mike!

Thought you might like to se the new home the engine I bought from you has finally found - Since Jimmer and Darrell got their hands on it and wove their magic! There's still some final 'fettling' - as Jimmer puts it - before she makes her journey to the bodyshop.......

That is one sweet engine you and your dad built mate - Sounds absolutely fabulous - I'm pleased as punch that i was able to get my hands on it! :)

In the first clip, the car is running without the exhaut (as you may guess!)

The second, with the exhaust fitted.......

And the last one is her first movements under her own power for the first time in 2 years! I could have cried!! :D And that wasn't because of the whine from the gearbox - Hopefully just a result of over 3 1/2 years of inactivity.......

Cheers fellas!

I am happy as larry with what Jimmer and Darrell have done - To be honest the car didn't get up to them in particularly good condition and plenty of bits have gone missing since being at SWZ, so it was a jigsaw puzzle for them! On the plus side, Paul has managed to find replacement parts for most of what got lost, borrowed or 'walked away' by whoever is responcible - Just some interior trim fasteners, gear gaitor rubbers and clutch vacuum tanks to find and she'll be as she should be! Plus a little bodywork repair, but we won't mention anyones 'pushing the car onto the trailer' skills!! :D

I am really pleased though fellas - I was just dumbfounded at seeing it running - It's been soooo long! Weird it was!! I'm running the Z1 gt535's now, Dave - The same turbo spec as the gt25r's which Jimmytt now has (good luck with your rebuild, mate!) - After discussing with Jimmer, I didn't want to have any more hassle than I had to, to get the car running, and tried to avoid as many potential problems and 'time consumers' as I could, so decided to sell up and buy the bolt-on kit! I was tempted by the gt600's which were the same price when I bought them, but the 535's/JWT530's have such a good rep for delivery wallops of power in a v8 fashion, that I didn't want to risk losing any of that drivability - After seeing SMW1's results, I certainly don't think I'll be needing anything bigger! :)

my ears are still bleeding from the noise.Shame the exhaust had to go on :D.Not sure your nieghbours would have approved either Simon.

christ is that my engine from my yellow zed? seems along time i built that LOL

as far as i know its still the only engine running trust internals in this country!! i remember paying £3k for the pistons and rods :o:D

also you wouldnt believe how well it pulls from low down, the 3.2 really gives you extra grunt from low down ;)

keep me informed on the build

Yep - Believe it or not, over 3 years after you pulled it from the car, it started up and didn't miss a beat, sounding fantastic - I'm really looking forward to driving it (especially after I've taken that D2 suspension off!)

Will be posting pics when it returns from the bodyshop and then it's on to the tuning stage and seeing what we can get out of the gal! I'll take good care of that fabulous engine you built, mate ;)
