insid the door is a small rectangular black box that controls the window motor, they are well known for dry solder joints.

unfortunatly to get to it you need to take the door card off which requires the window to be down

try slamming the door a few times you might be lucky

Sent him a tex , there is two boxes one rectangler and one fag packet size with the word satalight on it

my window goes down fine but stops at several points on the way up. i have to give it a shove to get it to move again.

When it stops the motor makes a horrible noise and it does it when all the way up too.

Ive had the door apart but cannot find anything out of place except a tiny amount of slack when lifting.

It has in the past stopped for no reason too, a little bang and it goes again, can it be the same box causing the problems?

Well thanks for all your sugestions, but im afraid none were correct this time ! it seems the last owner decided to re route the cables a bit and the hole they whent through chaffed the cable, and caused a short ,only noticed as there was a very slight spark from the chaffed wires, so stu you will have to find some beer money from another source this time !

Sounds like the motor has damage to the armature, so basically it's fooked!! New window motor time
