Hi all, im new, well sort of! I been on here a while but been saving my pennies to finally buy one of my many dream cars!

I do have one question though, as i have found a Z that im hopefully purchasing this week, whats the cheapest qoute a 20 year old male with 2 years no claims and 2 years driving experience look to pay? The lowest i could find is £1400, which i think is reasonable, but was just wondering if anyone knows of any cheaper prices?

Great forum by the way, been on here a while, just never had a Z!:D

BTW, your car looks good, but you HAVE to get a TT bumper on. Your ICs will not be breathing correctly at all. I'd make that a matter of urgency.

Yeh, im db_1.2 been a member since 2005 i think.

I have sourced one from a very helpful chap on ebay, andy300z his member name is. I was concerned about the IC's so i havnt driven it since ive realised, i have 2 other vehicles to chose from anyway (land rover and transit, oh joy!) so i want to make sure its how it is before i do too many miles.

You may know my best mate Craig Green then? Where in Wilts are you?

I know Andy Bishop and Karl Rowntree....I am sure you know who they are...chip as well?

PS, Ian Storey is a knob!

Yup know all of them, also i know you built a nice red gsi turbo ;)

I know a lot about you Mr Green!

Ian Story?! Rings a bell, whats his user name?

Ian would have been Ian_S or something. From Mersyside.

Yeah, Craig's building a 1.6 16v turbo at the moment for his GSi...it did have a Courtenay converted 1.6 8v that he did...lovely conversion that is too. It's nearly finished now. I helped him do some soldering on the wiring loom last week.

Oh sorry i thought you said you were Craig! Sorry!

I never met a lot of them, only a few.

But yeh i seen the first build years ago, didnt he sell the first shell? I do still have a look at the projects on there now and again have a look at the decent projects, like Craigs!

Well, he's had 5 now I think, but he's had the GSi for about 10 years. He was going to reshell it, but he's had so much work done to the current shell that he's just hung on to it. He took the 8v turbo out and sold it. It's now in the white GSi in TV this month I think.

Here's a pic of it.

Here it is next to my old V6 Astra...

Nice astra. Cool ill have to get TV this month, still got all my old ones.

Yeh i remember something about he was going to re-shell it.

I cant remember how many i had, i think i had 5 at least, good fun!

His first one was a B reg 1.2, then he had the GSi. Amongst that he's also had a TD, and SR and another one for breaking.

My Astra was in TV about 5 years ago, was only the second V6 Astra they'd had in there! Was certainly one of only 2 or 3 in the country at the time, one of which was Chris Courtenay's own 3.0 V6 Astra Cabrio.

Is that the bling perleascent one?

Oh yeh i remember his TD, i was looking to buy it, but we couldnt really come to a deal.

Narrr, he's not had anything bling or pearlescent. He's a back to basics enthusiast. Like the original Nova.

Cool, the only other v6 astra i cabrio i could remember was the bling one, i got the feature somewhere

Oh that thing. That was about a year after mine. Horrible, smooth boot, the lot! Chris Courtenay's car was a satin red Cabrio. Just had the Irmscher kit on it.

It does ring a bell, im sure i got a feature of it in my monsterous collection of TV!

It did yeah! Look back in it to something like October or November 2002. I think that was the month mine was in.
