Hi all, im new, well sort of! I been on here a while but been saving my pennies to finally buy one of my many dream cars!

I do have one question though, as i have found a Z that im hopefully purchasing this week, whats the cheapest qoute a 20 year old male with 2 years no claims and 2 years driving experience look to pay? The lowest i could find is £1400, which i think is reasonable, but was just wondering if anyone knows of any cheaper prices?

Great forum by the way, been on here a while, just never had a Z!:D

Firstly welcome :) , An imported Z will normally always cost you more , if u'r after a TT u'r best going on the hunt for a nice uk spec one for insurance at u'r current age

apart from that it's just the fact of shopping around a bit

My insurance company is called express insurance and quote themselve's as import specialists give them a try they may suprise you

good luck

Chris:)

P.s.. you could also get a 15% discount through Adrian Flux - see banner at the top ;)

try elephant.co.uk and then when you get the option to add drivers, add 3 people you know witout any convictions and have decent no claims bonus

Thank you everyone, such a helpful forum! :D

Ill have a look into Adrian Flux with the discount.

It is a UK spec TT, another thing i was concerned about is the milage on the car, its 112000 miles, from all the searching ive done over the last year, it looks like its over what i would say was average milage for a Z. Is there anything particular i should be looking for at this milage? I have read the z buyers guide numourous times. Ill be looking through the service history see whats been done over the years.

Other than that im pretty excited about finally being able to buy my first Z, going to view on Tuesday, cant wait!

My UK spec had 138k on the clock and the engine was fine, but the body had rotted underneath, have a good look underneath, round the rear arches is where mine had the biggest problem, some UK models are still solid though.

Good luck, hope to see some pics if you get it.

Thats a weight of my mind!

Yeh one arch has started to bubble, front bumper has slight crack and spoiler has a small crack too i think, luckily i know some people who done a lot of work on my previous cars that would do it all for reasonable prices.

So whats a Z like? Lol stupid question but i never been in one, just always wanted one from when i was child, this will be my last toy before i save for a property.

Welcome

I would strongly suggest test driving several before purchasing. Even if your heart is set on this particular example its a really good idea to drive others to compare it with.

There are a LOT of bad examples out there unfortunatly, more bad that good I would say, and I have driven many Z's that would have put me off them for life if I did'nt know what a good example drives like.

hi bud. im 20 with 3 years no claims, and for a TT import with admiral i was only 800 renewal before i sold it. I had been with admiral from the beginning so included some kind of loyalty bonus, go for the 10month bonus xcelarator and its cheaper also, but phone admiral direct then say u got it cheaper from kwik fit or suhin they should try and beat that. just say kwik fit where 1400 and im sure admiral will get under that.

elephant is admiral sister company, but seem to do good deals now and then so an online quote with them mibi a gd idea

mine is a uk car and although in the past has suffered with rust has all been renewed ad mine isnt half as bad as most uk cars

I would try it with one additional driver also, should try a female thats been driver for years, if your mother has perfect.

My mother is on my insurance, which brings it down a good few hundred pound, but when i start to add other people, good no claims bonus or not the price starts to creep back up.

Yeeeeh i see what your getting at lol, never thought of that. Its had a lot of work done, my main concern is what the engine is like as the rest wouldnt be a problem for me, or i hope so anyway!

Oooooohhhh i see there! I cant see ive seen one for 10k, the last one i seen for 10k was that 800bhp drag car jobbie if you remember that?

300zx's must be good if your willing to spend 10 grand on one! Lol

Ummmm, i dunno ive heard rumours that rotory powah is wickedy bo! But Z's are one of my all time favourites, other than that, at my age it would be a deposit on a house of some sort.

Welcome to the club mate:)

And 112k miles is not really high - especially for a UK spec and even more especially if it's genuine! Remember these are 15 or more year old cars so 112k is not at all bad.

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cool im glad ive been re-assured, ill be having a look tomorrow and hopefully bringing it home if its upto my standards (which looking at the previous cars, del trotters 3 wheeler should do!) Cant wait :D

I got my Z back and i love it! By far the best car ive ever owned, few little things, petrol smell, where does the rubber perrish? It just passed MOT so it shouldnt be the fuel lines anyway but ill have a look. It will be having a full respray soon with all the bits done so its nice for the summer, but overall, i absolutely love the car to pieces
