Nice one.

You did'nt want to be the ebay guinea pig then?

With the amount of work you have done yourself Jimmy you would have no problem fitting them yourself !?

If you got them from Fastorquer then he should also have seen them both together as I ordered him a set of original AMS manifolds about 6 months back, thats why i presumed they were originals.

No i bought these ones, he sold me just the turbos. for a very good price.

Unless you mean he had both a set of ams and ebay ones?

ahh..no ok, I thought u meant you bought the manifolds from him.

I dont know the current status of his car but he did have his AMS manifolds unfitted last time we spoke.....could be an opportunity for a photo comparison.

yes would be a good oportunity to put them together, I think it was topless who said someone had the ams, ebay, and mike smiths back to back, they couldnt tell the difference between the ams and ebay ones, although the mike smiths were smoother inside which is expected.

Ahhh....I was going to ask you what mine were, when I saw Jimmy's thread about manifolds the other day! I've never actually seen mine up close - They had a bit of rust on them last time I got even near, and I never actually asked anyone! Well, that's good to know Dave - At least I have got a set of decent ones!!

Glad they arrived Jimmy - I checked earlier on the web and it did say they'd gone out for delivery at 8 this morning, so I thought the chances were good! Excellent service there from DHL. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your build mate - Great stuff!

:D nice one mate.

take a pic of those manifolds, lets do a comparison.

coz im on a bidget it was either ebay jobs or stock manifolds. Im sure id be happy with the power with stock turbos, this is just a bonus, wheather they flow well or not is risk im willing to take, if they are close copies of ams ones then they must make a difference over stock.

yeh. I told topless about them. It was'nt actually me that seen them side by side, it was paul@swz, so as I said to him and others Im only going off what Paul told me.

I will do, if I get a chance, mate! I'm hoping that the manifolds are actually on the car - I'm pretty sure that Paul said he'd put them on after they arrived, but I'm a little worried after Dave said they hadn't been fitted the last he knew! Mind you, it might be that long ago the last time I saw you, Dave, that you may not have been around since they turned up?!!

As far as I know they were test fitted to the engine, but not actually bolted up tight. I seem to recall the turbos needed to be twisted (circlip released on the turbo and one half spun around) so that the actuators cleared.

Yeah - That sounds familiar, mate, now you mention it!

Paul might be coming down to the Red Cow near Berrow for curry night, later, if you're interested? Should be there about 8 or so - 5 quid a head, so can't really argue wth that! Rich'll be there too - And our mate Justin who's sadly got a modded mx5; so there'll be plenty of ammunition for pi$$ taking!!

Sorry to divert your thread, Jimmy! :)

These are the bits missing simon:

one more restrictor and one banjo.

EDIT i dont think i need more than one banjo bolt, but i still need the other restrictor, if you havent got one then il have to buy one but im not sure on the thread sizes, i know it has to be a .035 restriction tho.

Also if anyone knows where i can purchase the oil return gaskets this would be helpful

Okay mate - I'll investigate this! In my best Hercule Poirot way!!

There's nothing left in the box of bits I had - I'll check again to make sure they didn't end up hiding in my boot somewhere (I did have a good look when I brought them back to be honest!). When I see Jimmer next (I've just heard he's on the ferry, so it won't be today), I'll double check there as well.

Sorry about that - my mistake - I thought all oil line bits were present. We'll get something sorted between us if you need to get any new bits, mate :)

I have all the oil feed lines, thats fine simon, I can reuse my oil return lines just need to modify them and get the correct gaskets.

The only thing i need from you mate is the other restrictor (circled below) if you can find it good luck :o
