At Doncaster there was a stall selling those fuel cats. You know the ones that look like a gauze bag of lead balls. They claimed it increases the octane of 95 unleaded to 99. I think personally this must be total bollox. Even proper octane booster only claims to boost it to 97 and thats £10 per litre. This is all well and good for maxy power boys who fit them to their saxo's and convince themselves that they have got 20hp extra but this could be very dangerous for someone with a proper car running high boost thinking they are using 99 octane gas. It would be great if it were true then I could buy cheap petrol again. Has anyone tried one of these?

Hi,

I've seen these products advertised... mainly for cars that previously ran on LEADED fuel.

In my opinion they are total c*%p, and if your car is still fitted with cats,it would probably destroy them and possibly cause engine damage as well!

Better to stick to super unleaded, or a 'decent' octane booster.
