living in pothole city is getting too much for me.

My zed has been lowered by 40mm and has adjustable koni's on (so I think).

Every bump jars my spine and I have decided I want some comfort.

Is it wise/possible to have softer suspension so I glide over the bumps opposed to feel every stone in the road?

Is it something I can adjust ....... :)

Cheers

dont be a pussy deal with it:slap: konis's really shouldnt be that hard but im sure there are damper adjustments on those.

its not so bad,my jap spec tt make me feel sea sick when i wind her on over anything bumpyer than a snooker table. how hard is it to change shocks?

If they are adjustable you will be able to tell by looking at the top of the front struts in the engine bay.

The rears on Koni's have to be removed unfortunately to adjust

just checked fronts this morning - I can turn the top slot on them to adjust - result :)

Was gonna ask about how easy to do rears - would they not have the same slot on?

Cant even work out which plastics need to come off to see.... :(

If I soften the front but leave the rears - is that bad?

No its not bad, its just means the fronts soft and rear is hard :D

changes the setup, maybe less understeer and more oversteer.

Hey mate

What I did was do a little route that took in A, motorway and B roads. Drive round it and see what its like. Then soften two notches or whatever you have and do the route again. Keep going until you are happy and then turn up one notch. Do the fronts and rears separately. I did front first and rear after but a good idea is to start the rears on a soft setting. Aftermarket shocks if they are one way adjustable tend to have a sweet spot between being more compliant but not too bouncy.

The rears will have adjusters either on the tops or on the sides of them so you might need to remove the rear boot plastic (the ones where you would install a strut brace if you had one). Trial and error is the key although if you find that they are still too hard then try some KYB's & Eibachs. Ive just chnaged to these and they are a good compromise but are still quite hard.

On the rear knois you have to remove them to adjust, as I remember you have to depress them then rotate the piston rod.

If you're feeling flush, get some 3 way adjustable shocks then you have independant high speed bump adjustment which is great for eliminating shocks from sharp surface changes. It's why some modern cars have amazing body control but absorb bumps well.

I specced some up with Nitron that I'll be getting for mine when it's MOT'd, Jaffa has them but they are £££££

had a look at dinner on mine - one was set to near soft the other was set to hard!

set both to soft to see what it feels like

I was gonna get Nitron for my blade, (pretty sure it was them that were doing custom springs and shocks for my weight) - seemed pretty good

Ill see how it feels on way home.

I have koni adjustable too, they are set on the softest which is very comfy with supprisingly little body roll.

But anything but the softest and it bounces everywhere and the brakes become shit.

I have a small white adjuster that i keep in the glovebox, you put it on top of the shock and turn it, looks like a gas bottle tap with a koni logo on it.

nitrons are 2k plus I think but as good as they get. Kyb's and eibachs are a great set up and can be found second hand for not too much wedge.

Ron the K sports mate did you leave them adjusted when you dropped the off with Jeff ?

or will i have to go through the same trial and error process when i get them fitted to mine

cheers bro
