can anybody help me by telling me in plain english how to set the timing on my zed? i got the belt ready to fit but need to know so i can line everything up! looked at a tech page and now i am totally confused!:confused:

yes there are lines on the belt but need to know where they go to match up with the pulleys! and where to line the pulleys up too

got all the top pulleys aligned.

 

but cant see any markings on the crank to line it up with anything!

 

does anybody have an idea for me?

Click on the link above and it shows the mark on the crank. just did mine and all is ok.

two rotations later and marks line up but the belt lines dont.

 

does this matter?

didnt line up on mine either. but once the marks r ok u should be 2. on the above link it also shows number of teeth between marks. give em a count to make sure.

cool have started putting it back together now.
