Ok,

Phil has looked at the car and found that the oil leak is actually coming from the oil return from oil of the turbos.

There was no oil in the clutch at all and has just burnt away because it is crap, gone all the way to the rivets too which means it has also damaged the flywheel so looks like a faults part or whatever.

This is the clutch I have got, http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1837

Says it is good for 550 ft lbs of torque!!!!

What do you all think of this??? Bare in mind its only been in the car for around 2 months or less?

Unreal!!!!!!!! If its rated to the power it states, either it wasnt lined up correctly or something else wasnt right.

I changed my clutch last week (was a Standard Nissan one) as it couldnt handle the mods ive got, and it didnt look as bad as that.

I would defo be asking q's to the manuf / supplier

Stu

if the pedal wasn't properly adjusted then it would have failed prematurely.

Hi Lee, I have been here and you will not get a speedy responce from Z1. I am still awaiting replacement big brake discs after about 5 months of the previous ones cracking. As stated before it took about 5 months to sort a faulty turbo out that failed after 300 miles and it still cost me money to get it changed. I'm gutted for you Lee as this will not be a quick fix unless you are prepared to pay up front for a replacement. I am still not sure what the 'oil return leak' is as there should not be any leak anyway from anywhere ??? if all is done properly. I can see £££'s again here mate and that is sad. You have spent a lot of money, time and effort on this car and still not got what you want which is a reliable performing Zed. I guess I am lucky as Jimmer is my son and I dont get this sort of problem.

I haven't had any probs with my brakes that i bought from z1, But now im worried :( which ones did you buy the 2 piece or 1 piece? were u using them aggressively?

im going to check mine for cracks now :( oh what pads did u use?

Also what turbos where they?

Hi bud. Luckily phil is spot on and more than happy to sort out butlooks like I will need to buy a new clutch... Ill use someone I can trust like Danny@dta.

Its the oil return pipe from the top of one of the turbos I think he said.

Phil only got the car at like 3.45 and by half 4 when I called he had already stripped the gearbox off and was busy looking at the clutch.

Honestly can't knock the guy one bit

Exactly what happened to me. Clutch felt good and worked fine but over a half hour of driving would pump itself up.

What do u mean by stop itself up
PUMP itself up. Wouldn't release fully making it slip
  • 2 weeks later...

I had to replace my rear main seal and had to take the clutch out. I've done about 600 kilometers with the clutch and flywheel from Z1. I discovered I had the same problem as Bird.
