Evening all :D

Right, a few of you will know that I've not had Eliza on the road for a year now, and I'm really missing not driving her.

There are various reasons as to why she has remained off-road, but the short of it is that I want her back on the road and working properly for this summer. Simply I could take her to an MOT station and get a ticket and put her back on the road, but I want the turbo problem sorting as well.

So I'm fairly sure that at least one of the turbo's has 'gone' so the engine will have to come out, which one and if it definitely has gone or not I'll be checking very soon. But if my worse fears are confirmed then the engine pull will be the only course of action. Now this is where the problems start, if I take it to a garage then we're talking big bucks of which I don't have, I also don't have any facilities here to be able to do it myself either anymore.

So I'm asking if anyone has got spare facility capacity that they could lend to me  (preferably not a million miles away so that I can get to it easily) and hopefully with some knowledge of pulling engines :D as I've never done one before. Now this wouldn't be immediately, as I want to confirm my findings first, but would be in the next couple of months.

Any help/info will be gratefully appreciated

TIA

Dave

i cannot offer facilities but my mechanic will do the turbos with the engine in place and he does it at a very good price. pm me for phone number etc...

OK so from the info Yassa has given me it looks like I don't need to pull the engine out to replace the turbos! So I could still be looking for the use of someones facilities, preferably fairly close by, of which I wouldn't be expecting to be free. Unless there is someone out there who could do this for me at a reasonable cost :D

As above, Any help/info will be gratefully appreciated

When I say 'Not a million miles away' I'm thinking Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire etc :D

Why is it such a problem doing the turbos on the car? !

thought you had a garage? you dont need much room to be able to take the heads off. its not as hard as you might think. i live in doncaster im not sure how far this is from you but i am willing to help you with it if you need.

Garage? Me? Nope, although I did post a picture of Eliza sitting inside a huge 'Garage' a couple of years ago, but that was the works unit, and I no longer work there (actually the building in which my office is located is about 100 times larger than the old place, but it's got a couple of trains in it, so I doubt I'll be able to use it ;) )

Doncaster is about 50 miles away from here, so thanks for the offer and I'll see how my discussion goes with yassa's mechanic tomorrow, and get back to you
