yea sounds like the viscous clutch is stuck...might not be connected but i took the fan off my nissan cabstar a while back which worked perfect and put it on the bench on its back..re-fitted and it never ever freed of again and is constantly locked,i reckon when i laid it on the bench facing upwards the fluid somehow must of been disturbed in the hub and hey presto:headvswal..maybe you have the same problem i dont know:confused:

did the fan not come on when you stared the car, it should be constantly on if its the standard viscus one?

znut thanks for this were would be the best place to pick one off these up from and u have any idea on costs?

Are you sure you cant hear the electric fan running due to a bad conection on the temp switch. The temp switch is the one with the yellow plug on it on the water elbow at the front of the engine. If its unplugged or the connection is dirty the electric fan will stay on and as this is one of the sensors the ecu monitors (code 13) it can cause it to go into safety boost mode which would give you a reduction in power.
