This little b@sta#d flew into my kitchen today when I had the door open earlier today. Not seen one of these before but doesn't look too friendly. Anyone seen or know what it is?

Looks like a wood wasp... I think...

Giant Wood Wasp (Urocerus gigas)

we had a giant wood wasp in work about 15 years ago they are feckin huge. This could have been a baby I suppose but it didn't have that long probe thing hangin off it's arse unless they grow when they get bigger. i put it down the bottom of the garden in the end anyway and it flew off. Bit random at flying though it was a bit crap at it like a dady long legs

you'd be crap at flying if you'd downed a pint of john smiths that was 100x your body mass!!
