Hi,

What do you think of these costs for a service and cam belt change:

- Cam-belt change (inc Parts & Labour) = £290 (inc VAT)

Recommended service for 55,000 miles:

- B service (Labour) = £165 inc VAT

- 6 spark plugs = £70 inc VAT

Is this a good price from a Nissan dealership ?

Thanks.

i would find out what other parts they are supplying for the cam belt change and also what parts are fitting (and their prices) in the B service.

I think the B service is Brake service, which is new front discs, new pads all round, brake fluid change, oil change and fluid checks.

i think a full C service, as well the cam belt change, gives you new AIV filters, intake filters and spark plugs and consult report.

Other things that are common to be done on cambelt changes are water pump, cam belt tensioner, and sometimes some oil seals.

Spark plugs can be bought chepaer at Halfords or other motor factors,as long as you get right ones.

What is the hourly rate the dealer is actually charging, as that will give a better indication of comparison prices.
