cam belt slipped a tooth so stripped down as if doing a belt change and done all the usual alinement and repositioned the belt. put everything back together and now cant get the bloody thing started. strong fuel smell when turning over but wont fire. checked connections and all seems fine. please help.

hope you havent bent a valve mate but as said above take the fuel pump fuse out and turn it over a few times so its not flooded and then put the fuse back and try again.

one tooth? when did it jump was it running?

how did you find out?

few more clues would help mate.

take all the plugs out and clean them up also take the fuel pump fuse out and turn it over for a while to rid of the fuel. Then refit see if it starts.

when mine was running funny i took it zedworld and i found out it lost about 12 teeth on the belt and it slipped about 30 degree they just put a new belt on and its now runs mint

the belt had started rubbin off the case so had a look to see the prob. when i removed the case i saw she was 1 tooth out so i striped down and refitted. not sure how long ago she jumped tooth. will take out plugs in the morning and check connectors again.

ok lad thanks 4 all ya help. got it started this morning. turns out all my conection are fallin apart. the ptu connection was all corroded so got an elecrical cleaner and she sparked up straight away. just need to set the timing proper now. once again its great to have all of ye for the help and its much appreciated.
