Hi people, just removed the balance bar and for some reason never really looked or smelled in side but its got oil and a fuel smell to it? should this be right or should it be clean? if so what can cause this and what effects can it have on the engine??

Anybody have any ideas??

yeh should be clean really, bit of grime maybe but not anything serious.

check your regulator and pulse regulator (can't rememb exactly what they call it but looks exactly the same on the other side of the phelum) the pipes that go to the balance bar as they might be passing fuel. pull the hoses off and see if they smell of petrol.
