I'm going to be getting my engine rebuilt in the next few weeks and was toying with the idea of painting/colourcoding various parts (plenum/cam covers/etc) but aside from red and black, I'm not sure what else would look good....so...can you post up any pics of sexy looking bays to give me some ideas?

IMO, the best engine bays are the ones with the least amounts of different colours on them. When looking over the engine bay, you want the onlooker to focus on the engine as a whole, not have different colours of hoses etc in the way as it detracts from the overall look. It's the same principle for me with the exterior and interior. Less clutter and colours make it look so much more pleasing to the eye. Bigman's engine bay is what I think looks best.

If I was going all-out on mine, it would be a combination of black, chrome and silver parts. Making it look clean and bling, but also easy on the eye. Certainly wouldn't be having red, blue or yellow hoses everywhere and different coloured bits of engine trim.

I'd have black samco hoses, chromed/polished hard pipes and other metal bits and a smoothed plenum power coated silver.

Im in total agreeance with you... im not a fan of bays that are too overbearing. But id swap my clean bay for your clean bodywork :D

Both Simon's and 300zxy engine bays look very good,as said nice to see clean looks.

P.S...Thanks Simon for the compliment on the engine bay.

Loving the 'uncluttered' look  It does make it alot more simplified and easier to work on tho :D
