I need to replace the rear spoiler on my zed but I can't decide which one to get :headvswal

My choice is between an FBglass replica of the original or a 99 spec one.

The car is black and I'll be keeping the original front bumper, would a 99 spec look good?

I've also heard that the 99spec gives a better view out the rear, is this true?

Any comments are welcome.

am i the only one who likes the early standard one then

No mate, I love the original look too. Just fancied a change.

I prefer the original, looks good with the brake light in it. Would go '99 if it had the brake light built in. ( i know you put one in the boot)

I would say the reason (possibly) that most people probably don't like the original version is due to bad experiances with them due to the moisture holding and the rusting problems.

I personally don't have any problem with any of the OEM ones, I think they all look nice on a standard car (ie; all original stock exterior) but when I bought mine it never had an OEM spoiler fitted, so for me to be a '99 spec wannabee' is because I like the look of the later styling (in fact it'll be looking even more 99 spec very soon as well :D )

Smooth is what i'm going for soon. Prefer smooth and the original low-level spoiler to something that obscures my view out of the rear window.

I certainly wouldn't go that far! You still have a good view, as the lose is minimal, also considering that you have 2 door mirrors. I've driven with nothing and the 99 spec, and to be honest there really isnt that much of a difference, but saying that I'm use to driving vans/trucks so I don't rely on the interior mirror at all, just the occasional look.

Saying all of that though, it would be nice to be in a position to be able to actuall drive my Zed at the moment, as it's been off the road for exactly one year now :(

i`m opting for no spoiler.there`s more work involved than i thought there would be

cant add pics cos 1.cant find camera and 2. if i could the dog has chewed the lead so cant up load anyway

Here is mine.

TBH I get bored of everone going on about 99 spec.

Too many 99 spec wannabees on here.

No matter how many 99 spec bits you bolt on a 90.91 or 92 year car it will never be a 99 car:nono:
