Black = Signal and the other two are HEATER

For Titania sensors:-

 

Titania type 1

RED = heater +ve

WHITE = heater +ve

 

BLACK = signal -ve

Oops!! serves me right not checking when Copy and pasting.

When one looks at this picture of an O2 sensor on ZCENTRE it shows the black as the centre wire...

Not sure... but have you got a multimeter?!

I do, and a scope?

But the sensors are not on the car anymore as I [had to] cut them of prior to de-catting from the turbo back!

 

I have access to 3 wire (universal sensors) one BLACK and two WHITE wires and I wanting to know the chances of them being useful!

i think the nissan o2 sensors both have different part numbers, maybe the wires in different places is the difference

so are you reconnecting sensors on the z?

yep - but I thought I would test a couple of the alternative 'universal' variety first to see if they work/compatible!

Anybody else used anything other than OEM O2 sensors?????

Think if i remember correctly, the only reason there are two part numbers is because one side has longer wires than the other.

 

May be wrong though, so dont take that as gospel...

I thought that zeds used different types of o2 sensor depending on the year???

 

I've seen them with two white wires and a black, or (like mine are) a red, a white and a black....

Can have titania or zircona (sorry about the spelling) But IIRC the colour of the wires tells you which they are.

 

And they cant be swapped either.
