Hey guys,

I joined this site a long time ago just to look at the lovely images.

Im new to zeds but ive always loved them. I think there one of the best looking cars around, I dont know about the mechanics of them though, but im sure theyre excellent seing as theyre japanese.

Im at uni now with an E30 and a R5 turbo, and i want another toy :D

But, this is the problem im having, i cant get reasonable quotes.

Im 21 btw.

Also, are there such things as TT SWB manuals, because if there are they seem to be rediculously rare.

Tbh im not all about top speed, my mates skyline hit its limiter pretty quick, gave us a bit of a shock actually. Might not be a bad idea to limit me for a bit first.

lol , i know what you man can be a blessing or a curse depending on ur angle

one of the first things i done though was check !

It's easy to do though >(just picked this snippet up from another thread)

A MPH conversion can be done by fitting UK 180mph clocks (the proper way) or soldering in a kmh/mph convertor behind the JDM instrument cluster.

hope it helps:D

(Mine has the first option)

That sounds easy enough, and i know what you mean, we did do that the first day he got it :D

However ive never been past 125 as in my car the steering wheel starts to shake, gets a bit scary in the beemer aswell, my tires are so crap it scares me to go that fast incase i lose traction.

I bed the zeds go through tires pretty quick. Im gonna have to do alot more research on these cars i think.

Thanks

Yeah, i was looking at buying one of the following, celica gt4, 200sx, 300zx or a renault5 turbo, in the end it was the insurance that made my decision for me, they told me that i wouldnt be able to get insurance on any of them apart from the renault until i was 25. But i started looking again now im 21, and shopping around there not that bad quotes considering the car.

Its a bit crazy knowing i can actually get the car i want, as ive seen a few for under £1500 tax n mot.

Haha, yeah 325's are fun. The milestones in insurance are a bit silly. My dad always boasts his insurance on his honda fireblade at £85

im only 23 and i can insure my jap tt for 600.

I'm suprised mate... mine is just under £900 with 6yrs NCD. And it's for a N/A... who do you insure with?

However ive never been past 125 as in my car the steering wheel starts to shake, gets a bit scary in the beemer aswell, ...

You need to get a bigger car :D I've got an e34 1990 and almost touched the end of the speedo few times... Good solid car, doens't even feel you are going that fast... The pleasure of luxury cruising

You'll struggle to keep the zed out of the end of the speedo if you know what I mean ;)

Maybe it really is a good thing its limited then.

I just dont feel safe that fast on pubic roads, im just used to the beemer though, Its a bit rear end happy. I imagine these cars are much the same

Devils in the wet but planted in the dry!! you maybe in luck and Not have a de-limited one so before you sort it 112mph for you max im afraid :)

strange tie up youv'e got there

in reality i think a uk/tt would prob be the cheapest for you to insure

BUT will not be limited to the 112 rule !

where as a import prob will be limited unless it's been removed etc

but to the point>

(i could have got a uk/tt insured for half of the price of my jap n/a)

CRAZY !!:x:

an na zed costs more than a uk zed as it costs more to insure an import which all na's are

Thats rediculous. I wont limit my choices to the speed limiter, but i think it would be a good idea.

Why do imporst cost more to insure in the first place. It shouldnt make any difference, infact i think they should be cheaper as they go through checks when they come in.

Um, i dont think i could afford it, when i do get one its probably gonna be a dog on its last legs that someones given up on. As good as your one looks and im sure its a luvly ride i wont be able to have it.

Unless u wanna swap for a 5 GTT ;)
