Both of my o2 sensors on my UK TT are knackerd, but i have a spare pair on my jap that im breaking. So i think change them over as the jap ones were perfect.

Get my new Snapon 3/8 offset tool, a few bars, and some universal sockets. Sprayed Rust off on them last night to soak em up.

1st attempt, after 10 mins dosent want to move, start swearing at them and threatening to kill them and comments to the manufs. walk away to cool off.

2nd Now have coffee and fag on the go, they must move now as im feeling calmer.........another 10 mins, and the language is getting worse. Spray loads of rust off on them and leave for a while.

Go and make and sarnie, watch some tv.

1/2 hour later im now armed with a rubber mallet.

3rd. Within 2 mins of trying, its started to move, only 1/2 a turn but its progress. walk away and think of other ways.

More fags, now 4th attempt, instantly give a bit more wellie and the 1/2" adjustible socket snaps and my knuckles clashes with the bulkhead.

Loads of swearing, light up again and start knodding at the zed, "yes you bas***d, your trying me, but i will win, dont worry"

5th attempt, Another coffee, and now the big bar comes out, but its got its mate with him. The Blowtorch

After heating it to the same as the surface of the sun, i give it one last go, the Snapon tool is ready to rock and roll, I give as much as i can to get the git to move, but the Zed refuses to give us its treasure, so it decisdes to snap another universal socket, and my already glowing hand now punches the underneath of the bonnet, but catches the bulkhead again for good measure.

"Fook you" is heard along the south coast from Dover to Lands End.

Slam bonnet, throw tools at the garage, and walk away well and truly peed off.

Ive smoked all my fags, have sore hands and the dam sensors are just laughing at me.

Ive given up, going to get my mate to weld some holders on the zorsts lower down, so they can be accessed, and get some new sensors.

Rant Over

It might sound long winded, but another option is to remove the downpipes and work on the O2 sensors on a bench, or in a vice or so..........

Crikey mate

That was like reading a thriller I couln't wait to find out what happened next!!!

LOL

Replace your downpipes instead with nice shiney divorced wasteage Stainless stell jobbies

sod trying to remove the rusted on tight original o2 sensors LOL

I've got this job to do on my UK car. Looking forward to it even less now. Keep us updated.

Pmsl!!!!

I did this a few months ago. also snaped a few tools lol!!! I ended up giving it to the garage and only cost me £40 :duffer:

feel sorry for you mate. sounds like you had an stressful day. i had the same feeling when a sprk plug snapped on my fazer when attempting to remove it :(

I found that if you get movement, undo a little, then do up , spray wd40 erverywhere + keep that action going, or it just seizes on the rust.

Nasty,nasty job though.
