just got back from having my cars geometry set up at http://www.centergravity.co.uk/index.cfm and cant believe the differance its made.when i arrived there at 9.30 he started work and didnt finish til 5pm.first he asked me how i drive and wanted it to handle.as it used to step out at the sniff of a corner we decided to go for ballance rather than drift happy.then once up on the ramps and several cups of coffee later he spent a good couple of hours checking and greasing all the components.he was very informative showing me if anything had any signs of wear, we found out that she had ohlins coilovers which i never knew!.anyway he then decided to weigh me so that she could be pre loaded with weight before checking the geo.It was amazing to see his attention to detail making sure everything was done correctly.once finished he took me on a test drive and wow the difference in her was amazing, like a different car. I really can't recommend his services enough. Not only a perfectionist, but a true enthusiast, to boot.:bow:DSC05114.jpgDSC05115.jpgDSC05116.jpgDSC05117.jpgCIMG0285.jpgCIMG0284.jpg

I had mine done not so long back - no where near as comprehensive as that tho! Made a massive difference tho

Excellent, Thats just the sort of setup I'll be after on mine when its ready. Sounds like they have a lot of track setup experience.

your alignment was all over the place originally!

Car looks fantatic btw, love the paintjob. Have you posted up pics before? first time I've seen it.

I cant see the pic, must be blind

Cheerz

Chris.

There are 6 pics there!

Did you try and refresh and see if that helped?

its cost me £260 which really is a bargain as the knowledge and enthusiasm he has is worth every penny.the test drive after was great fun showing me how to drive fast safely on twisty b roads entering corners flat out in 4th without any fuss or tyre squel at all.l never thaught my car could handle anyway near as good as it does now.

Not wishing to put the dampers on this but as all A and B roads will be 50mph due to Nu snivelling Labour's latest revenue raising scam - it almost makes any sort of handling on twisty bits irrelevant.

I can exceed nearly every limit in 1st gear alone...................

Is that including the fitting of the parts in the pic on the right?

Oooooo i need this done badly, Normal tracking shops just dont know what they are doing.....

Anyone know if there is a place closer to london?

Jimmy...

try protyre in Enfield down the A10

;)

Protyre enfield = Sh1t

Went back there 3 times coz it was not right, still isnt right i could visually see it was wrong, One wheel was sticking out more than the other so i had to adjust it myself to stop it hitting the arch, On throttle the car now goes to the left and off throttle to the right.

They couldnt even tighten the traction rods properly, when i checked them they were loose, They are idiots there complete numpties.

The worst part is i just had it sprayed and when he jacked it up from front he pulled the wing out and cracked the paint, YES i did get a discount however wow great.... If you wanna take your car there go for it, Pricks, I hate them always moody and act like they really dont wanna be there, not very helpful either.

Most of them are aged under 20 pure amature people. Their wheel tracker sensors have stretchy cables holding them in (the things that you hold down luggage with) WTF????

So basically my tracking aint right and never has been so im annoyed and i might aswell go for the full track setup, at least il be getting my monies worth.

Do not go to protyre in enfield........

i may be trying these CentreGravity people out soon to get my new suspension set up professionally. im very pleased with the new ride, except on odd occasions when i go over even a light bump in the road at speed i get a nasty grinding noise from around the wheel somewhere - sounds exactly like someone trying to ram a gear in without the clutch down.

I went to these guys about 6 weeks ago on the recommendation from this thread and i can say that everything said by craigszxtt is true. I've recently had nothing but bad experiences with leaving my car in with so called "specialists" who just botch things as they go and charge a fortune, so going to centregravity was like a breath of fresh air. It really put my faith back into the motor trade.

It's run by a fella called Chris who used to work in IT and started setting up suspension as a hobby. As he seemed to have a knack for it took up more and more of his time doing it and now it's his business. When i was there he'd just finished setting up an S2000 for a track day and regularly sets up Porsche ClubSport motors. I arrived on a Friday lunchtime and he worked at the car, asking me how i wanted it and showing me everything he was doing until 20:00 and his attention to detail was amazing.

I had recently had Powertrix upper front and rear control arms, front tension rods, front and rear Whiteline ARB's, Tein mono-flex coilovers and a full polybushing by a "specialist" and the car had felt like crap. Chris found a number of defects such as suspension arm bolts only hand tight and castleated nuts without split pins and fixed all these at no extra cost. He checked every nut was torqued correctly on the suspension, diff and subframe. He even lent me his car so i could get a rear undertray section from Zedworld (15 mins away) after the specialist had just ripped it off and not put it back.

After setting up the suspension he took the car out for a test drive and when he was happy he let me try it. It's an overused phrase, but it really felt like a new car. The ride was not noticeably worse than stock, despite all the polybushes and the coilovers and the handling was so far beyond what it had been before. I've been spending a lot of time driving in twisty mountain roads in the south of France recently and the car just sticks to the road, but even when it gets out of shape it's so predictable and controllable that there's never any need for panic even with a 600ft drop next to you.

As you can probably imagine, i cannot recommend this guy highly enough. I only wish that the rest of the motor trade could have this guys drive and enthusiasm for what they do. Only problem is, most of his trade is repeat customers so when i was there in the first week in June he was booked solid through to the middle of August. If you book now, you might get in before Christmas ;)
