HSD coilovers are the same as the SPL and Powertrix coilovers which are probably the most track tested coilovers used on the 300zx. They are also the coilovers sold by Driftworks in the UK. (edit: Just seen ebay advert, that is driftworks selling them on ebay)

They are a Monotube shock with Independent height adjustment and 15-way damping control, using 8kg/6kg Spring rates.

A mid level coilover system with good reputation for quality and performance. I would happily take any day them over Tein Superstreet and Tein Flex or any of the cheap Chinese made suspension (ksport, d2..etc).

I wouldnt say a Korean made coilover is better than a tein flex monotube coilover but they seem ok and good value.;)

The Superstreet and flex (the ones I mentioned and the most popular Tein models ) are not monotube and the Superstreets height adjustment isn't even independent.

They have a good on hold on the market, but are generally overhyped. Quality is not that great.

The tein monoflex is monotube, but I'd rather go with the HSD/SPL/Powertrix/KTS coilover.

The higher end Tein stuff (£2k+) apparently uses better quality parts but if I was going high-end then my money would also go elsewhere. (like Zeal, Nitron or Arogosta)

Ive got the Tein super street + EDFC on my zed, had no problems and 32 setting of suspension (very soft to very hard). cost me approx £1900 for the lot fitted. Very happy with the setup.
