that really pisses me off about my car - the window mechanism keeps trying to push the window up thru the roof every now and then makes a loud clicking noise and causes the lights to dim, is there a relay dead? or a switch problem? or a motor i can buy, its like a ghost pressing the 'up' button every coupla seconds...

Is it doing it on its own, or when you press the button. If on it's own it sounds like a dodgy connection/earth.

Or a ghost

Sorry, it's a dodgy connector, pull the door cover off and check them out.

Sounds like the one touch auto function unit, a small black box fitted in the door.

This is the same unit that some times fail due to bad connections which stops the window working unless you bang the door panel.

I would try changing it which is a real quick job no need to remove the door panel, just carefully pull the bottom clear of the door clips and you can reach up and swap it over with a good one.

Just thought of something else, do you have an alarm that closes the windows when armed? could be a problem there if you have.
