gearbox still playing up:headvswal

 

trying to cover all angles before getting another box

its an auto. all the gears seem to be there but now it wont go into 3rd.

after going up and down with the stick a couple of times it changes up but then if i stop or slow so it goes back into 2nd it wont change up again!

 

any new ideas would be great

was also wondering if it could be more electrical rather than mechanical, as seems all gears are there but just not engaging.

 

used car tonight and had no 1st or 2nd gear but did have 3rd and 4th!!

just been checking out the gearbox on my auto

 

have found that it pulls away when its in drive like its in 3rd

pulls away in 2nd

when i put it in 1st it locks as though its in park

 

so really have no idea now totally :confused:

 

please help??

uno check fluids when i went to his house couple of weeks back.

he added some for me

sounds like the box is on it's way out mate - I would defo check fluid levels and get it serviced a.s.a.p at a reputable auto gearbox specialist (if there are any!?) other than that, it's only a matter of time and it don't sound good...
