Well it did today to me. I spent 2 hours polishing the car including metal polishing the wheels and spraying the tyres and the Zed looked superb. Got showered and changed and went for a day out of glorious zedding. 300 yards from home some old dear pulled straight out in front of me. Booooosh, I'm into a 54 plate Focus. I know its serious because my bonnet is now bent up in the middle. I am stunned........but not as much as the old dear, she was not even looking my way when she pulled out. Some other motorist flashed her to come out and she did, without looking my way. She was in total shock. What can you do in those circumstamces, certainly not have a rant. Her husband, a wheelchair case was sat beside her and said that it was her first ever accident. He was in shock too. here are a couple of pics of my car and the Focus ( these mobile phone cameras are great) but I will post up some proper pics tomorrow. I think she may be a gonner, but Jimmer is coming over tomorrow to give me his opinion. To say I am gutted is an understatement but it is only a car. No one was hurt. The blonde girl in the piccy was behind me in her Audi TT and gave me her datails as a witness to this stupid event.

I was over with Jimmer earlier and he showed me the picture of the damage and I was in shock myself - Such a shame that something like this has happened to such a lovely looking and well looked after car. I really hope the gal can be saved - You must be gutted, but it really sounds like one of those stupid, like you say, things that was completely out of your control, and you can never make allowances for. Fingers crossed that she will rise again!

Cheers Simon, I am gutted but we will see what can be done. I have spent a lot of money on the car and she looked stunning and a joy to drive, but at the end of the day it is just a car and no one was hurt. Jimmer has also spent a lot of time working on it so its is also gutting for him.

I've had a quick look already and I'm pretty confident we can get you back on track quickly. Before the summer anyway!!!! Haven't got much time this weekend, but certainly will make a start on locating some bits for you so that we can get the car back to its former glory :duffer:

sorry to hear about that bud, i am breaking a 93 tt,i will donate a part of your choice if required. all body parts are good and the buper support etc is good. just the indicators and maf from the front are taken i think. the headlight pannel is also available.also i have the headlight if you need it.let me know what ya need, my local zed garage is stripping it for me next week. if you need to see the body of the car just look at the pics of it in my breaking thread. stu.

Just have the front so far John. From what I can tell, you'll need a new bonnet, wing, slam panel, cross member, headlights, new FMIC (ouch) and a new Ablfug front (again ouch!)

 

I'll see if I can do my Wizidary and will have a go about sourcing some vendors from the Border IC and ABFlug front. Would be amazing to see it back on the road!

 

I think it's more superficial, but unfortunately, you had some rare and expensive parts on it. We'll make sure we have a good seach for you mate. I am sure the rest of the forum will offer as much support as is needed too.

 

Im sorry to hear this John, I know the feeling. It happend to me a few years ago. Dont let her insurance wright it off!! And watch every trick they try too.
