I've got a chipped series 1 jdm TT ecu. Can I remove the chip and install it in a series 2 UK, or is it better to get the new car remapped?

 

Don't really know much about chips/maps except the very basics :o

Yes, thats fine. Everything relevent is the same between both cars and the chips are off the shelf versions mapped for a general setup.

 

It would only become an issue if the chip was mapped for different size injectors or turbos.

What sort of issue would develop mate? Reason I ask is that my JDM engine and ecu was running 15psi, I don't know how this was done as all the paperwork points to the car just being chipped :confused:

it would overfuel like a pig if it was mapped for bigger injectors and turbos, you would be able to tell straight away.
