saw a hicas locking bar on ebay, which is much needed as my hicas has started going nuts, keeps trying to steer the back end round past the front, anyway - are the hicas locking bars off ebay any good and when they say they have 'no fittings' is that a problem?

Featured Replies

if i recall correctly ;)

the rear hicas is like a steering rack, and has ball joints at either side, and when they get worn it cuases problems.

get a NA rear end, will do away with the hicas and give you better acceleration, im doing that along with a manwell swap

hhhmmmm, thats sounds re-god-damn-diculously expensive. so you recon even with the hicas locker in i'll still need to replace the ball joints. that sucks! it does handle like balls the now tho, very interesting

Drift works do a kit, look for hicas on eBay, cost's about £200 looking to get on my self, this more than a bar it replaces the arms and the ball joints that ppl have said wear away, I think jimmy got one and said it's very good.

Why not just fix the wobbly joints you must have on yours? Also if your rear shocks are stuffed that can have the back end doing all sorts of things over manhole covers etc. Properly working HICAS is actually pretty good.

got my hicas bar from e-bay, not fitted it yet, but looks good quality, and cheap price, got it from japan, iirc.

u will need the uprated or new hicas arms tho.

nah definatly hicas, the wheels wander all over the shop when cornering, they actually start to make the back slowly turn round so that the tail starts to slide, also hicas warning light is on and i have been told a balljoint is buggered by the garage. i hate the hicas anyway, even when it did work, if the car did started to slide it would then go batshit when you tried to correct it....basically its garbage for my driving style, just personal choice but i NEED it gone!
