Sold the zed today to a very nice bloke, he was here all day took the car for a few test drives, had a long talk, went through the paperwork, sorted the cash.

All round good sale :hyper:

Had a phone call about an hour ago, on his way home to leeds the water temp rose and steam appeared! :mad:

Sounds like the heater pipes as it sounds like its from the back of the engine.

Typical eh? :headvswal

How bad does this look? :wack:

bad luck mate.

could always offer to pay for part of the repair if you wanted to show that it was unexpected

Tell me about it ;) but fortunately pete is a bang up bloke. Can't find any threads to get any extra info hope one of you can point me in the right direction.

lol im sure i can manage the price of the pipe, just need to find someone with hands like a 12 yr old to fit the bleeder

you getting another zed:hyper::hyper:

Thanks pete and joely. Ill await the morning an see what the script is with loss of water etc an check the oil cap as advised an then ill let you all know...wish me luck :)

if the leak is at the rear of the engine it wont be the 2 short stubby jobbies... the 2 bendy ones are the 2 i mentioned... if it is those thats a good price as you will need the 2 stubby ones if ever you change your water pump :) though you should deffo check to be sure... can pete confirm whether this has had a plenum water bypass done?

il rephrase lol... the link you gave is for 4 coolant pipes... the 2 short pipes fit at the very front of the engine so if your leak is at the rear they wont help.

the other 2 bendy ones in that kit are for the heater matrix feed through the bulkhead. from your description it could possibly be one or both of them that has split as they are round the back of the plenum...

though i would definately refill the coolant system and try and trace the exact pipe that is leaking so you dont waste your time changing random pipes. unless you can already see witness stains of where its coming from...

Thanks again Joel. Ill be having a good look tmw an when i'm done ill get on an put it on the thread.

i had to put some pipes on mine as the heater had be bypassed by a previous owner one of the pipes was a peice of piss todo where as the other was a pain in the arse the only way i could do it was by getting a L pipe and joining to short pipes together and after i did that i was very happy because id been told that the matrix was proberly bypased beacuse it was knackerd but it wasnt ????

unlucky bud. when my bro sold his saab 95 aero, he got a call from the guy who bought it a couple of hours after saying the guy crashed it:rofl: didnt ask for his money back luckily :D
