1. check your entitlements and maximise your income
http://www.entitledto.co.uk
2. foundations, trust funds or benevolent societies may help you with grants and awards, for example
http://www.britishgasenergytrust.org.uk or http://www.edfenergytrust.org.uk to help pay / write off large energy bills or
http://www.retailtrust.org.uk (for shop workers) or
http://www.licensedtradecharity.org.uk (anyone who has worked in a pub / resturant etc)
http://www.thedickiebirdfoundation.co.uk for kids who are good at sport but need help with kit costs
i could go on.....the trick is to search by your trade/profession online just add in the word trust fund, foundation or benevolent....there are also trust funds linked to almost all major trades unions like Unite, GMB, Unison etc call them and they will have application forms for financial support requests.
