What Exhaust..?

Yes, another exhaust Q. Now that my Apexi induction kit is installed, I'm after a decent exhaust system. I'm after one that will give me a nice deep V8 kinda sound, a friend of mine said that the HKS one is very good?, any ideas?.

Well, I've just had the Z-Centre cat-back exhaust fitted. It's got a lovely bass note, plus it's twin 4-inch outlets so it looks really cool/mean. It's not massively loud, which is superb for motorway cruising, but I certainly drive round town with the window down a lot more now, just to listed to my own glorious noise (sad git).

I've heard that the HKS exhaust is not completely stainless and could rot, not sure if this is the case, though.

Oh yeah, the z-centre exhaust is completely stainless, and retails at about £620 for the whole lot. You can see it on the z-centre website.

Cheers,

John.

Isn't the Super Drager the best and most expensive ?

Mine has Apexi back boxes but is straight thru cat back otherwise. See it in rides.

A bit louder than I'd like but when you drive slow it burbles nicely and howls in tunnels when you floor it.

Yes biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif lol

Except its a single outlet, sounds the best of any of the exhausts without doubt, as two into one makes for a nice v6 sound, where as all the other exhausts are two 3 cylinders biggrin.gif

would like to get it fitted before next monday as I'm off to that Airfield near Silverstone on that day (BBC filming).I'm On the reserve list of Jap supercars lined up for a blast around!. Would of been nice to get the exhaust before then!.

Why not get one custom made.

Hayward & Scott (01268 727256) will do it for £750 + Vat,

Powerflow (0800 980 5338)can do it for £600 all inc,

Both are fully stainless and you can specify noise levels and tailpipe design. Both these systems can junk the cat if you want, remember cat-replacment pipes are £200 alone so the entire package is quite good value.

You mean it's one exhaust not two single exhausts or two twin outlet exhausts ?

If so, that would mean a mass saving BUT more restiction on the exhaust, no ?

Just had one from GPS (made by JP exhausts) on mine a few weeks ago, well chuffed.

Pretty refined sound and you can have what tail pipes you want. Build quality is v. good.

Mine was £500 with 5x3 oval tips, guess the LWB one might be a bit more

Are mongoose systems any good?. Anyone on here have one of those?.

Tony

I have a mongoose at the moment (4 more days) and it is excellent. Retains the 4pipe outlets and sounds better as it gets older. Rolled-in exit pipes are a pain to keep clean though.

Well I've just bought a mongoose system from smithy. Should have it later this week and will fit it over the weekend!. cool.gif

Next mod on my list will be a boost controller. Not sure what type to go for at the mo', but any recommendations greatfully recieved. wink.gif

Other good bit 'o news is that the zed passed the MOT with flying colours. Only one quirk tho' was the torsion rod on drivers side which is starting to get a bit 'knackered', apparently around £120 for one of these from main dealer?. Anyone got any more info on this?.

Cheers
